More Snow...

Boy do I love the snow. Being from Michigan you either love it or you hate it. I set out early today to make sure I got to work on time, and it was a good thing I did. It was horrible. every one was going like 20 miles an hour when the posted speed was 40. Now I know that you sometimes have to slow down but come on... that is a bit ridiculous. If you are going to drive like an ass then stay off the road people. You can still drive safe and go a respectable speed at the same time. It's not that hard.

Which car gets more tickets? It's surprising to find out who, and what gets the most. MSN reported that one really big one ranked high on the list. Read on...

"Which cars Draw the most tickets?

A yearlong study identifies the vehicle -- and it's a big one -- whose drivers get ticketed the most. The research suggests that what you drive may indicate how you drive.

Drivers of Hummer SUVs were 4.63 times more likely to get a traffic ticket than the average driver, concludes a yearlong study by a company that helps insurers identify risks.

ISO Quality Planning, the San Francisco company that studied the records of 1.7 million drivers, compiled a list of ticket magnets that confirmed some long-held notions: Owners of the 507-horsepower Mercedes-Benz cls63 AMG and similarly muscular CLK63 AMG received outsized numbers of tickets, as did the generally young owners of the relatively inexpensive Scion tC, xB, and xA, and the Audi A4 sports sedan.

But also on that most-ticketed list were the Subaru Outback and the Toyota Camry Solara and Matrix, three cars not known for great speed or expressing the rebellious nature of their owners. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, virtually identical mechanically to their General Motors sibling Hummer, appeared on the least-ticketed list.

Sharing the bottom of the list? Buicks, minivans and pickups.

Sales of Hummers fell 51% in 2008.

Analysts at ISO Quality Planning were more than willing to pile on.

"The sense of power that Hummer drivers derive from their vehicle may be directly correlated with the number of violations they incur," said Raj Bhat, the president of ISO Quality Planning. "Or perhaps Hummer drivers, by virtue of their driving position, are less likely to notice road hazards, signs, pedestrians and other drivers."

What ISO Quality Planning believed the data show about Toyota drivers was unclear from its news release.

Insurance claims data generally back up ISO Quality Planning's findings. Ratings information from State Farm, for instance, advises Hummer owners to expect to pay significantly higher than standard premiums for liability. Likewise,Scion owners typically face much higher than standard rates for comprehensive and collision insurance. (You can see how your car compares here.)"

Ikea

Today I went to Ikea and realized on the way home how much I hate driving. Either that or I just hate stupid drivers. Why is it that I can go the speed limit and just as I am passing someone on the left or right, they have to cut me off at the last minute slowing down ten miles under the speed limit causing me to break real fast. I was in that lane first, you were already going 10 under. You do not need to slam into my lane forcing me to go as slow as you. That's why I was in that lane in the first place...to get away from you, and every other driver like you.

Stuck in the middle

Well I thought I saw everything until today coming home from work. I saw a car in the left turn lane not doing anything figuring they were making a left turn, but as I got closer noticed they had no lights on and then noticed there was no one in the car. Why would you leave your car there anyway? It's called a tow truck use it.

Snow Speeders

This is what I want to know... What the hell gives you the right to speed and whip through the left turn green light praying that you make it before it turns red on you? Coming home from lunch today with my boyfriend, we saw a guy flying around the turn and doing a near 360° turn just as he finished his left turn. First of all you don't go flying around a corner that fast. If you are that much of an idiot than don't bother going out in this crap.

The Way To Fat Burger

I gotta tell you, the drive with Cortney today was a total trip. First thing was that I got gas at the really cheap price of $1.87...Woohoo! Then on the way to Fat Burger I got cut off by some idiot and had to make an emergency exit. If you have ever been to Southfield MI, you would understand the traffic is horrible and if you don't get in the lane you need then you are screwed. Well we finally made it and to let you know the burgers are awesome. Also we saw a guy try to make an illegal u-turn down 13 mile. WTF?

Driving While Smoking

O.K. This is what I don't get... What is up with drivers who smoke? Why do you insist on smoking with your window down? If you want to smoke then roll up your window and smoke to your hearts content. Don't let it all out so it can wafer on over to my car. It's not my fault I have air that is not working and need my window open. Oh... And please... Put your cigarette out in the ashtray, not through your car window to land on my car. It's called littering, and it's against the law.

Things YOU can do.

Some of the things you can do to help the safety of the road is not to drive like an ass. Also don't go texting on you cell phone either. I know I have been guilty of this and I try not to do it if I can help it. Usually I do it at a stop light and save it as a draft if it turns green and I'm not finished. Also... no talking on your cell while you are driving either. That is what earpieces are for. In fact I use an earpiece 99.9% of the time. I like it because it is small and I hate the big huge ones that go over the ear. This one is about the size of a 50¢ piece, and is barely noticeable. It holds in place really well and sometimes you don't even know it's in the ear. Also, if you already are a good driver, then you are more than welcome to jot down the make and model of the car in question you encounter and call the local police and report them. I have done this before and it works for the most part... and even if it doesn't you have the satisfaction of reporting it. Make sure that you get a full description, and a license plate number helps. That way you're not getting the wrong person.

CVS

How stupid do you have to be as a driver to hit a light pole in the CVS parking lot SOBER. Apparently while at work today a lady not only hit the light pole but slammed onto the the grassy section surrounding it. You know the stuff that is higher than the parking lot and is usually held in by cement. Pictures are sure to follow soon.

Driving Home.

Driving home from work tonight was a total bitch. First of all it was all frozen over with a heavy ice like stuff making it virtually impossible to drive without sliding and just as I thought there were a couple of drivers acting like assholes. The first one drove in front of me swerving into the left turn lane from behind me at the last minute not even turning on their blinker to let anyone know they were making a left turn. Then another person flew out from a parking lot on to the road not watching where he was going, and stopped right in front of me making me have to do a hard break. Luckily I didn't slide. Fortunately I got home in one piece.

Red Lobster Tonight

Welcome to my new blog. I had started this blog on another website, then got my own website and continued it there. There it sat and sat and nothing became of it. Mainly because it was not the focus as I intended it to be. I had been coming to this site for a while reading a favorite blog of mine and thought to myself only today that maybe my idea was not bad, that maybe it just needed to be re-focused. So... here it goes. Hopefully in the near future I'll be able to get valuable input from you, the reader and until I figure out how to do that; then that day will have to wait and you'll just have listen to my rants. I may not post every day; but then I may not run into stupid drivers either. What really got me restarted tonight, was my boyfriend's and my visit to a Red Lobster. Some one had parked in the carport by the door and left it there to eat inside. We could barely get by with our Jeep and we noticed the car had it's right side rear view mirror all busted up and hanging off the side. Personally I don't think that is the place to park.
